The SBAI Recognises Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company for its contribution to the industry at its Annual Nordic Institutional Investor Forum in Finland
At its 12th Annual Nordic Institutional Investor Forum hosted in Helsinki, Finland, which brought together leading investors and managers from Europe and North America, the Standards Board for Alternative Investments (SBAI) presented Varma, one of the longest-serving members of its Investor Chapter, with a plaque in recognition of its vision and leadership in the asset management industry and its tremendous contribution to the SBAI.
Kai Rimpi, Head of Hedge Funds and Credit, Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company, stated: “We were delighted to be among the first European institutional investors invited to join the SBAI Investor Chapter, as we strongly believe in robust standards, good governance, and transparency.”
Varma joined the SBAI’s Investor Chapter in 2014 and was the first Finnish institutional investor to do so, paving the way for the Finnish investor community. Today, most of the major Finnish investors are members of the SBAI Investor Chapter, accounting for over €300bn in assets.
Over the years, Varma has contributed to the SBAI’s activities, including the SBAI’s EMEA Committee, Responsible Investment, ILS and Governance Working Groups, sharing its expertise and benefiting the investor community.
