SBAI Elects Derek Drummond of SWIB and Jean Rogers of Blackstone to the Board
The Standards Board for Alternative Investments (SBAI) has elected Derek Drummond of the State of Wisconsin Investment Board (SWIB) and Jean Rogers of Blackstone to its Board.
Derek Drummond said: "I have been involved with the SBAI as Chair of its North American Committee and I am thrilled now to work more closely with the Board at a time when the industry is going through such profound changes."
Jean Rogers said: “Blackstone is a Core Supporter of the SBAI because we believe that greater availability of robust and consistent (standardized) metrics can help drive value for our investors. The SBAI's ability to promote global collaboration between investors, managers and regulators is something we support, and I am delighted to join the Board."
Mario Therrien, Chair of the SBAI, stated: "We are absolutely delighted to welcome Jean and Derek to the Board and highly value their readiness to support the SBAI's endeavours to improve our industry. The SBAI will benefit tremendously from their counsel and perspectives as leading investors."
He then added: "Jean and Derek are replacing Dale West of Teacher Retirement Systems of Texas and Richard Lightburn of MKP Capital Management, who have stepped down from the Board, having served on it since 2015 and 2018, respectively. We appreciate their contribution to the Board over the years and guidance provided to the SBAI Team. We will miss Dale and Richard and would like to wish them well in their next chapter."
