The Standards Board for Alternative Investments (SBAI), an active alliance of alternative investment managers and institutional investors and custodian of the Alternative Investment Standards, and the Dubai International Financial Centre Authority (DIFC Authority), the leading global financial centre in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region, today announced a global partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding.

The SBAI announced today the launch of its Oceania Advisory Committee, which brings together leading institutional investors (ART, Future Fund, NZ Superfund, QIC, TCorp, TelstraSuper, VFMC), asset managers (Cheyne Capital, Wellington), and investment consultants (Albourne) to enhance the SBAI’s visibility and connectivity within the Oceania investment community and with regulators.

The Board of Trustees of the SBAI announced today that Jane Buchan, a current SBAI Trustee and CEO of Martlet Asset Management, will succeed Mario Therrien as Chair of the SBAI, who is stepping down on 31 January 2025 after four years leading the organisation. Jane will assume her new responsibilities on 1 February 2025.

The SBAI has been at the forefront of efforts to improve outcomes in the industry, serving as a collaborative platform for stakeholders to come together to set industry standards and promote good practices.
