Dr. Chen was formerly a Managing Director at Jasper Capital International. Prior, he was the Chief Investment Officer and Co-founder of Rosefinch Global Asset Management. He served as an integral part of the investment team at Arohi Asset Management, which managed close to US $1Bn absolute return long only Asia ex Japan hedge fund assets. He was the China analyst at Capital Group International Inc, a part of Capital Group Companies, and managed a research portfolio sleeve in his coverage areas of AUM ~US$200M.
He received a Ph.D in high energy nuclear and particle physics, Columbia University, a MBA from Wharton Business School, and a B.A. in Physics from Fudan University.
Executive Director, Investment Products Division, Securities and Futures Commission
Ms Choi is a member of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC). She is also an Executive Director with responsibility for the Investment Products Division, which is responsible for authorising and supervising collective investment schemes and other investment products as well as for the development and implementation of the SFC’s asset management strategy and policies.
Ms Choi joined the SFC in 2005. She has extensive regulatory knowledge and experience in the policies and requirements for investment products both in Hong Kong and internationally. She played a lead role in the design and launch of various mutual recognition of funds (MRF) arrangements between Hong Kong and other jurisdictions, in particular the ground-breaking MRF arrangements with Mainland China.
Prior to joining the SFC, Ms Choi practised as a solicitor in Hong Kong and was a partner of the Corporate Group of the international law firm, Clifford Chance.
Ms Choi is currently Chair of the International Organization of Securities Commissions’ Committee on Investment Management. She is also a member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s Financial Services Advisory Committee and the Asian Financial Forum Steering Committee.
Ms Choi chairs the SFC’s Products Advisory Committee and Committee on Real Estate Investment Trusts. She also sits on the Advisory Committee, the SFC (HKEC Listing) Committee and the Executive Committee.
Chief Investment Officer , Noah International
Alvin Chua is the CIO of Noah International. Prior to joining Noah, he was a Managing Director at BOC International (BOCI) from 2014 through 2022; Global Head of Sales, Trading and Research Division, for Equity and Fixed Income. Alvin is also an Adjunct Professor at Lingnan College/Sun Yat-Sen University (Guangzhou, China); a Senior Advisor to the Center for Financial Stability (a New York based think tank focused on financial markets), and a Committee Member of Green Finance Forum of 60 (Shanghai).
Alvin started his career on Wall Street in 1987. Over the past 35 years, he has held various fixed income, equity, capital markets and asset management positions at Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America, Cantor Fitzgerald, F&C Asset Management and BOC International.
Alvin also served as an Independent Non-Executive Director of China Guangfa Bank (Guangzhou, China) from December 2013 to June 2020, and chaired the board Audit Committee.
Alvin received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He was a US registered Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
In addition to Adjunct Professor at Lingnan College/Sun Yat-Sen University, Alvin has also guest lectured at the National University of Singapore (Centre for Asset Management Research & Investments), the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Institute of Global Economics and Finance), and Tsinghua University in Beijing.
Executive Director, SBAI
Thomas Deinet was appointed Executive Director of the SBAI (previously known as the HFSB) in 2008. In 2007, Thomas joined the working group to project manage the development of practice standards proposed by 14 leading international alternative investment managers that led to the establishment of the SBAI.
Prior to joining the SBAI, he was a senior manager at Oliver Wyman, where he extensively worked with major financial institutions in Europe covering asset management as well as corporate and investment banking. Thomas also worked as an analyst in energy trading for a major commodities trading firm.
Thomas is a graduate of the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, with a major in industrial engineering and holds an MSc from Purdue University, USA. Thomas is a CFA charterholder.
Global Head, Blackstone Alternative Asset Management
Joe Dowling is a Senior Managing Director and the Global Head of BAAM, where he oversees and leads all of BAAM’s investment activities.
Prior to joining Blackstone in 2021, Mr. Dowling led Brown University’s endowment, including as Chief Executive Officer from July 2018 to July 2020 and Chief Investment Officer from June 2013 to July 2018. Mr. Dowling also served as interim Chief Financial Officer of the University from May 2019 until January 2020, leading all finance and treasury functions as well as cash and debt management.
Before joining Brown University, he was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Narragansett Asset Management, where he managed funds for institutions, pension funds, and endowments.
Mr. Dowling has also worked for First Boston and Tudor Investments. Mr. Dowling has a B.A. from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
MD, Absolute Return Strategies, GCM Investments Hong Kong Ltd
Ms. Han is the strategy head for Asia and other globally oriented strategies, serves on the Global Investment Council and is located in the Hong Kong office.
Prior to joining GCM Grosvenor, she was a Managing Director at China Investment Corporation, where she co-managed the hedge fund allocation portfolio. Previously, she was an Investment Officer with Alternative Investment Solutions of UBS Global Asset Management with responsibilities in manager research and operational due diligence in Asia. Prior to joining UBS, she was an Associate Fund Manager with Value Partners Hong Kong, responsible for the research and investment of Hong Kong listed shares and China B shares. Prior to Value Partners, she served as a Manager with the Licensing Division of the Securities and Futures Commission in Hong Kong. She began her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP in the audit division as a Senior Accountant.
Ms. Han holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accountancy from Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is a qualified accountant and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst® designations.
Managing Director and Head of Asia-Pacific, Private Equity , PSP Investments
John Kim is Managing Director and Head of Asia-Pacific, Private Equity at the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments). John heads PSP Investments’ Asian private equity business and Hong Kong operations, where he joined in early 2019 as the first employee of the firm’s Hong Kong office.
Prior to joining PSP Investments, John spent a decade at AlpInvest Partners where he focused on private equity co-investment transactions in Asia Pacific. He started his career at Lehman Brothers.
John holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics-Economics from Brown University.

Susan Lee is Partner and Investment Due Diligence Analyst for Asian hedge funds and private credit funds at Albourne Partners. Previously Susan worked as Portfolio Management Analyst at Pacific Alternative Asset Management, a fund of hedge funds in Irvine, California. Susan began her career at Fixed Income desk at Lehman Brothers covering Asian central banks and institutional clients. She holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA in Mathematics from the University of Canterbury (NZ). She is fluent in English and Korean and is based in Hong Kong.

APAC Committee Chair, SBAI
Ted Lee is the APAC Committee Chair of the SBAI and CEO of E15, a global deep tech VC firm, as well as Senior Advisor to PAG and Polymer Capital.
He recently left CPP Investment as Managing Director overseeing the development of their Asia Pacific exposure. Prior to joining CPPIB he was a Managing Director at Blackstone in the Funds of Hedge Fund Solutions team based in Hong Kong, where he had been involved in Asian hedge fund manager evaluation, selection and monitoring. He also served on BAAM's Investment Committee.
Mr. Lee received a BS in Accounting and International Business from New York University’s Stern School of Business. He has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Phillip Meyer joined Oasis in 2007 and serves as General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Co-Chief Operating Officer for the Oasis Group. He is responsible for providing legal advice to the Oasis Group and managing its legal and regulatory affairs on a global basis, as well as overseeing all non-investment aspects of the firm’s business, including infrastructure, IT and data security, business development and fund distribution, human resources, and he co-leads the firm’s finance and trade operations teams.
Mr. Meyer received a B.A. in English from The University of Texas at Austin, graduating with high honours, and he received a J.D. from Cornell Law School, where he was Note Editor for the Cornell International Law Journal. Mr. Meyer is licenced as an attorney with the New York State Bar and is an associate member of the Hong Kong Law Society.
He is the Chair of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) Hong Kong Executive Committee and formerly served as Co-Chair of its Regulatory Committee; serves on the Human Capital Committee of the Hong Kong Financial Services Development Council (HKFSDC); is a member of the Standards Board for Alternative Investments (SBAI) Culture & Diversity Committee for APAC; co-chairs the Sohn Hong Kong Investment Conference planning committee for the Karen Leung Foundation; formerly served as a member of the Education Committee of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI) and formerly served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Corporate Counsel Hong Kong (ACC) and as Co-Chair of its Financial Services Committee.
Mr. Meyer was named to The Legal 500’s inaugural “GC Powerlist: China & Hong Kong” in 2017 and the Oasis Legal Team was named to the GC Powerlist: Hong Kong Teams 2019, and he was the recipient of the 2021 Lexology Asia-Pacific Global Counsel Award for Regulatory (Financial Services). Managing Director, External Portfolio Management, CPPIB Asia Inc
Sajjad oversees APAC External Portfolio Management team and allocations. Prior to moving to Hong Kong in 2019, he managed a global portfolio of external managers spanning relative value corporate credit, distressed credit, structured credit, rates trading and emerging market debt fund investments.
Prior to joining CPP Investments in 2008, he spent several years with technology firms in Canada.
Sajjad holds an MSc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a Masters in Mathematical Finance from the University of Toronto.

Larry is CEO for Fosun Asset Management (FAM) and Chief Investment Officer for Fosun Banking and Insurance Business Group. He has over 20 years’ investment experience in financial industry.
Prior joining Fosun, Larry hold position as a senior advisor for Vivo Capital, Chief investment officer for PingAn Asset Management. Previously he was head of the Public Equity Dept. at China Investment Corp. (CIC), Senior advisor for the National Council for Social Security Fund of China (NCSSF), Partner and Head of Global Equity for GSA Capital, Portfolio manager at Barclays Global Investors and senior analyst at Citibank.
Larry holds a Ph.D. in economics from State University of New York at Stony Brook. He is a member of academic committee for the National Research Center of Finance for Beijing University.
